• Job Seeker Services - The Career Centers offer a one-stop solution with four Centers in the Lincoln Trail Area. Job seekers can receive assistance with career services such as resume writing, education, skills training and job placement. They have direct access to online information about everything from jobs to training programs. Career Center staff is available to help access the most recent labor market information, on-the-job training opportunities and other employment-related assistance.
  
  
• Employer Services - The Centers offer a one-stop solution to businesses needing assistance in employee recruitment, skills training and human resources services. Employers can recruit qualified workers from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. The Centers can also assist with employer training programs, funding assistance for employee training, employee assessments and information on business start-up, retention and expansion efforts.
  
  
• WIB Members - The Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a 45-member advisory board that includes representatives from all eight counties in the Lincoln Trail Area Development District. The WIB aims to enhance development and solve problems for all residents.

Everyone is eligible to receive basic core services, which include labor market information, partner program information, resume writing assistance, etc. Individuals must meet eligibility requirements in order to receive more intensive services or training assistance.

Some of the services available to eligible youth are as follows:

• Tutoring, study skills training
• Summer employment
• Occupational skills training
• Leadership development opportunities
• Mentoring

Youth must meet established economically disadvantaged criteria in order to participate in the program.

Lincoln Trail's Business Liaison and Career Center Manager are available to meet with businesses to ascertain what available resources will meet their current and/or future needs and the Career System partner that can provide those services.

One or more of Lincoln Trail's Career System partners provides the following services:

• Application and Hiring Process
  • Take applications for positions at company site, at the local Career Center or other suitable site
  • Screen and refer applicants based on company's qualifications for each position
  • Schedule job interviews
  • Provide space for interviews
  • Provide selected testing and assessments

  • Customized Training (Pre-Employment, Entry-Level, Occupational Upgrade, Skills Upgrade and Workplace Literacy Skills)
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Availability of training funds through Elizabethtown Community & Technical College, Lincoln Trail Area Development District and Bluegrass State Skills Corporation for incumbent (currently employed) workers

The WIB conducts oversight of all employment and training activities, including adult, dislocated worker and youth programs, operation of the Lincoln Trail Career Centers and any special projects funded by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The WIB also selects and approves providers for employee training, develops relationships with economic development groups and the employer community, promotes private sector involvement in the workforce investment system and serves as an advisory body to local education and training providers.
